Question:Re-installing GW
To start it off, I un-installed GW 2 months ago cuz i wasnt playin it too much and i thought it was takin up too much memory, but now that wintersday is back and lookin (somewhat) good, i am now regrettin that i un-intalled it and am now re-installing it. I have all 3 camps + EotN, but i only put in the discs for the prophecies campaign. I left my main character at Kamadan, and now the loading time is about 30min-45min, whereas before it was about a min at the most. Now the questions come:
1. Do i need to put in the install discs for the other campaigns in order for them to have a better loading time?
2. Is it normal that the first-time area load is 30min-45min? My comp stats are: Pentium 4 512mb RAM; 32MB Nvidia GeForce2 MX; Cable internet connection; Windows XP; DirectX9.0 (i think)
Thx for ur help

You have to download the files for anywhere you haven't been before. Using the disc would install some of the files for you, but not all. Using the -image command line will, but will take a long time. The speed is mostly based on your internet connection.

As you know the game files update all the time so its best to reinstall using the latest disk you have, in order of preference that's.
Eye of the North
Nightfall
Factions
Prophesies
Even with EON there will be a load of files to update.
When you enter the game the basic files will update but all the map areas and towns will still need to catch up.
The game does this when you enter them, this can mean long waits when you enter new areas, enough to annoy other party members as well as yourself.
The -Image command forces a complete update in one go, with broadband internet its not too bad but dial up could take all night.
The way to do it is to edit the shortcut link to the game by adding a space then - image to the end so it looks something like this
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\gw.exe" -image
Do a web search if your still stuck

Can't install with EoTN Disc btw, as it's an expansion, don't quote me on that though.

You can install just fine with the EoTN disk, just can't start a new account with the EoTN key only. And since the EoTN disk is the latest to come out, its the closest to a fully updated .dat. Still leaves you with a year+ worth of updates to download.
